Jim Brown- Master Scuba Diver Trainer

Jim Brown- Master Scuba Diver Trainer

I have always loved the water and the ocean in particular, it's my happy place. I was able to try through Discover Scuba at resorts, but 2009 offered me the opportunity to really get involved with it and I haven’t slowed down since.

I love diving anywhere and have spent quite a bit of time in the Caribbean, but my favorites have been in the Pacific in Palau, Australia, and Hawaii. My favorite way to dive is on a liveaboard boat where we eat, dive, and sleep. I am truly fortunate because my best dive buddy is also my wife.

I wanted to be a Divemaster because it gave me the opportunity to learn more about what I love - diving, the ocean, and its inhabitants. I became an instructor because I want to share the diving experience with others so they can experience the ocean’s majesty, and also to help promote awareness of our need to take better care of our oceans (and our world). I continued my education with TEC training to learn and experience more, and it was even more special because I was able to share the experience with my son.

When I’m not diving I’m usually working in the tech industry or thinking about diving, but I also love ice hockey and have been known to drink a lot of coffee and sip a little tequila.
