A competitive swimmer as a child and teen, Lee’s first scuba dive was in 1986 when working in the British Virgin Islands—dipping his toes in the water and experiencing what is now referenced as the PADI Discover Scuba Diving course. 

Lee's scuba enthusiasm continued. During 2000, he was certified by the predecessor company to Blue Crew Divers. While participating in an underwater archaeology project during 2015, he earned his first professional certifications. Lee is now a PADI IDC Staff Instructor—certified to teach multiple specialties. With his partner Joan, they spend a significant amount of time living and diving in the Caribbean splendor—Curacao.
